Bus Safety: To Insure the Safety of our Children

For the safety of our students it is imperative that each and every parent, student and staff adhere to the Springfield Township School District Bus Regulations. Specifically;
  • Each student is assigned a “pick-up” location at or near his or her home.
  • At the end of each school day, the child is returned to the established location.
  • At the end of the day parents must be at home to welcome their children from the school bus.
  • It must be visible to the bus driver that a parent is home. (Parent at front door, or a vehicle is visible.) If not the child will be returned to the school. In turn, a member of the school staff will attempt to contact the parent to come to the school to pick up their child.
  • Transportation arrangements may not be altered. Each emergency situation will be addressed on a case by case basis.

NOTE: Transportation arrangements presently scheduled with the Superintendent and Transportation office will be honored.

I realize that in past years, parents requests for transportation changes have been honored and their children have been “dropped off” at a neighbor’s home or a friend’s home on the same bus route. However, in honoring these requests, problems have occurred and potential dangers have escalated. Therefore, at this time, it is imperative that such requests cease and we focus on consistency and safety in transportation as our primary goal.
The safety of our children is our utmost concern. If you have any questions please call Helena Kosoff, 723-2479 (*811) or Dottie Klitz, 723-2383 (*816
