For the safety of our students and the smooth operation of our programs will be assured the following is established.
1. Any person, any non-employee persons visiting or working in the school must report to the main office first to obtain permission to enter the school, sign in the Visitor Book, and to pick-up a visitor or volunteer button. This requirement will be posted on all exterior doors.
2. Persons wishing to visit an area in the building should make arrangements in advance with the school’s administrator. The administrator will notify staff members in advance of approved visits. At all times, the school office and any staff members involved will be aware of the planned visit. During a visit, the following guidelines will be followed:
3. Any visitor to the school whose presence or conduct is disruptive, or whose behavior,
past or present suggests that he/she intends or is likely to become disruptive, may be
requested to leave the school premises. If the visitor so addressed does not withdraw,
the superintendent may summon assistance from the local law enforcement agency.
When a court of appropriate jurisdiction has terminated the parental rights of a parent, the legal guardian must inform the school so that the administration may apply appropriate regulations. The principal shall seek confirmation of legal custodianship where necessary.
No one may visit the school during school hours for the purpose of recommending or exhibiting books, maps, etc., to staff. No person shall be allowed to deliver any address or lecture on any subject unless authorized by the chief school administrator or designee.
All visitors to the school must obey regulations prohibiting smoking and any other regulations designed to ensure orderly operation of the school. All persons violating this policy shall be considered “disorderly persons” and subject to appropriate action.
